Celebrate Ride to Work Week with a free Bike Breakfast!

Anyone who cycles in can claim a free bacon or mushroom bap with tea or coffee. The first one was on Monday, but if you’d like to come to one of the others please sign up using the Eventbrite links below:

Wednesday 27 March – Big Data Institute, Old Road Campus

Thursday 28 March – Andrew Wiles Building, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter

Friday 29 March – University Offices, Wellington Square

Ride to Work Week’s not just about free breakfasts, though. It’s a major campaign to encourage people to commute by bike, and for every ride to or from work that you log with UniCycle you’ll automatically be entered into a draw to win fantastic prizes.

The theme this year is #GoDutch, so the goodies on offer include a Babboe cargo bike and a trip for two to the Netherlands. Biking to work has all kinds of benefits – it’s much cheaper than most commuting methods and keeps you fit – on average, bike commuters take half the sick days of non-cycling colleagues. It’s also fun, helps ease stress and reduces traffic and harmful emissions around town.

UniCycle is an engagement programme that the University is taking part in to encourage staff and students to cycle. All you need to do to get involved is register on the Love to Ride website as an employee of Oxford University and start logging your cycle rides. Find out more by visiting the Love to Ride Unicycle site, and stay up to date by following on TwitterFacebook and Instagram.
