The proposals involve the installation of bus gates and the introduction of new parking levies for those driving into the city centre. The University held a community briefing event on 11 October in which Council officials gave a presentation about the proposals and what they would mean for the city; this was well-attended, attracting around 80 people from all over the collegiate University. It is currently putting together a joint response that will be put before Council in early December, and is keen to receive feedback on the proposals from a broad range of members of staff, to ensure its response is as comprehensive and well-informed as possible.
